Ruslan brings over 20 years of investment banking expertise with a broad array of technology industry experience in the communications, semiconductor, software, hardware, IT/BPO services and new media and Internet sectors. As a senior M&A and private placements investment banking professional, he has been involved with many of the latest industry disrupting technologies and emerging business models in the last two decades. Throughout his career, Ruslan has directed numerous privately-negotiated transactions such as VC and private equity placements, buy-side/sell-side M&A and other types of structured financings and recapitalizations. At View Partners, Ruslan works with emerging and mature technology companies and specializes in the online media, software, outsourced services and communications sectors. Prior to co-founding View Partners in 2007, Ruslan was a Managing Director with Kaufman Bros., L.P., a technology focused full-service boutique investment bank. During his tenure there, Ruslan successfully raised equity in private and public markets (IPOs and secondary offerings) and led and completed numerous domestic and cross-border sales and financings for telecommunications, Internet and enterprise software and hardware companies. He was responsible for, and actively involved in, forming Kaufman Bros.’ relationship with its venture capital partner the Nissho Iwai Group, a global Japanese trading company with over $70 billion in annual revenues. Ruslan had previously worked in the Global Markets Division of J.P. Morgan in Frankfurt, Germany. Ruslan is a graduate of Dartmouth College and received his double M.A. in International Economics and International Relations-Law from Johns Hopkins University. He lives in New York City with his wife and two children and is active on the Artists Council of the Whitney Museum of American Art and in the city contemporary art scene.

Rakesh Kak

Rakesh brings over 25 years of investment banking expertise with a broad array of industry experience in the communications, technology, healthcare, transportation and power sectors. He has successfully raised debt and equity in private and public markets and has closed both buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions. Rakesh has led debt/mezzanine financings, building strong relationships with banks and debt/mezzanine capital funds and has executed various complex structured finance transactions, including project finance, lease finance and securitizations. Prior to business school, Rakesh worked as a software consultant primarily for the financial industry, and possesses strong engineering expertise and a vast network of senior IT executives in the field. Rakesh is a graduate of IIT Roorkee, India with a BE in Electrical Engineering and has received his MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School. Rakesh lives with his wife and their two children near Princeton, New Jersey. An avid skier and hiker, Rakesh leads his family on adventures in all corners of the United States and abroad.
